Timber Terrace Muskoka

As a documentary wedding photographer in Muskoka I had been dying to shoot at Timber Terrace for quite some time. I get to witness so many beautiful celebrations, but the ones that stand out most are the days filled with intentional, personal details — and Katie + Ralphie’s wedding was exactly that. Their Timber Terrace Muskoka wedding felt relaxed, heartfelt, and deeply reflective of who they are as a couple.

One of the most meaningful touches of the day was the handmade banners Katie created with her mum. Hung throughout the space, they added such a beautiful warmth and pop of colour to the venue, softening the rustic surroundings and making everything feel even more personal. It’s details like these that transform Timber Terrace from a stunning outdoor wedding venue in Muskoka into a space that truly feels like home for the day.

Timber Terrace is a dream for documentary-style photography — surrounded by trees, natural textures, and soft light that changes throughout the day. With on site locations to host every part of the wedding day from getting ready to dancing the night away, the venue allows moments to unfold naturally without ever feeling staged or rushed. It’s one of the reasons I love photographing weddings here.

Another favourite detail? The subtle Lord of the Rings–inspired touches throughout the day which brought a touch of personality and humour to the celebration. As a huge LOTR fan, my nerdy self was in love with these touches. Those small nods to what couples love are what make a wedding day memorable — and they’re always my favourite moments to photograph.

Katie + Ralphie’s day was a perfect example of how personal touches, a relaxed atmosphere, and the beauty of Muskoka can come together to create something truly special.
