A Sun-Soaked Braestone Farms Wedding in Coldwater, Ontario
Some wedding days feel effortless from beginning to end, and Claire and Quinn's wedding at Braestone Farms was exactly that.
Nestled among rolling hills and orchards in Coldwater, Ontario, Braestone Farms provided the perfect backdrop for a celebration that was equal parts emotional, joyful, and beautifully relaxed. The entire day felt centered around what mattered most to Claire and Quinn: spending meaningful time with the people they love while creating memories they'll cherish for years to come.
Together, we planned their wedding day intentionally building in time for candid moments. Rather than rushing from one event to the next, they created space throughout the day for moments to unfold naturally and for them to be present, reconnect and be themselves. As a documentary-style wedding photographer, this is something I always recommend whenever possible. When couples aren't constantly watching the clock, they have the freedom to be fully present with each other, resulting in photographs that feel genuine and authentic.
Making Time for More Than Group Photos
Claire and Quinn also did something that I wish more couples would consider: they dedicated time for individual portraits of their wedding party.
Of course, group photos are important, but everyone deserves at least one photo where they're looking and feeling their best. Whether it's for a LinkedIn profile, social media, or simply because professional photos are a rare treat, their wedding party left with updated portraits they'll actually use long after the wedding day is over.
It's a small addition to the timeline that makes a surprisingly big impact.
A Beautiful Orchard Ceremony
The ceremony took place in Braestone Farms' orchard beneath warm sunshine and endless blue skies.
As guests gathered among the rows of trees, the afternoon light filtered through the orchard, creating a setting that felt both intimate and expansive. The ceremony was filled with heartfelt moments, laughter, and plenty of happy tears as Claire and Quinn exchanged vows surrounded by their closest family and friends.
It's easy to see why the orchard ceremony space has become such a beloved feature of weddings at Braestone Farms.
The Kind of First Dances That Leave Everyone Crying
If there was one theme that carried throughout the evening, it was emotion.
When the dancing began, there wasn't a dry eye in sight. Family members wiped away tears, friends held each other close, and the room collectively felt every moment of the speeches and dances.
As a photographer, these are the moments I live for.
The most meaningful images often aren't perfectly posed portraits—they're the split-second reactions, the tearful smiles, and the looks exchanged between loved ones when nobody realizes a camera is nearby. Claire and Quinn's dances created countless opportunities for those genuine emotional photographs that tell the story of a wedding day far better than words ever could.
A Surprise Quinn Will Never Forget
One of the sweetest moments of the entire evening came as a complete surprise.
Earlier in the day, Claire had prepared a collection of Polaroid photos of herself for Quinn. As the celebration continued and everyone danced the night away, her bridesmaids secretly delivered the photos to him one by one.
Watching Quinn's reaction as he realized what was happening was priceless.
It was personal, thoughtful, and uniquely them—a perfect reminder that some of the most memorable wedding moments are the ones that aren't listed on the timeline.
A Wedding Day Focused on Connection
From the sun-drenched orchard ceremony to the emotional dances and thoughtful surprises, Claire and Quinn created a wedding day that felt deeply personal from beginning to end.
Their celebration at Braestone Farms was a beautiful example of what happens when couples prioritize connection over perfection and make room for genuine moments to unfold naturally.
Claire and Quinn, thank you for trusting me to document such an incredible day. It was an honour to witness and capture every laugh, tear, hug, and surprise along the way.
This was my first time photographing a wedding at Braestone Farm and I absolutely loved this venue! With so many great photo locations it truly is such a delight to soak in the beautiful sun sets among the orchard and flower fields. I can't wait to come back! :)
