A Wedding Day Filled with Love, Laughs & Lakeside Views
I had the pleasure of photographing Emily and Hunter's beautiful wedding at Trillium Resort in the stunning Muskokas, and let me tell you, it was a day to remember. The morning started with Hunter and his groomsmen, enjoying cigars and a brew before the ceremony. Instead of a first look, Emily and Hunter decided to exchange heartfelt letters, which always leads to the most emotional images. Their furry friend Kazi also got dolled up with a pretty pink bow - so adorable!
Emily's mom helped her get ready, leading to some amazing first look moments with her bridesmaids and dad. The ceremony itself was absolutely perfect, with the weather cooperating and the breathtaking views of Devine Lake in the backdrop. Trillium Resort is one of my favorite venues to shoot at, the grounds are just *chefs kiss*.
After the ceremony, we quickly breezed through family photos and wedding party shots so that Emily and Hunter could join their guests for the cocktail hour. Kazi even got in on the action, catching and eating flies - too funny! Emily made a stunning dress change for the reception, which left Hunter in awe. We managed to sneak away for some intimate couples portraits by the pond and dock as the sun went down. This is always a favourite part of the day for me as it allows my couples a break from the busy-ness of the day and is a great chance to just hang out with each other on their wedding day.
The evening was filled with heartfelt speeches, a delicious meal, and a seriously hoppin' dance floor. As a documentary photographer, capturing the energy of a wedding dance floor is definitely a highlight for me. I can't wait to return to Trillium Resort for another wedding - it truly is a magical backdrop to a wedding day and I'm always so excited when I get an inquiry to shoot there! Until next time!
