A love filled couples session in Collingwood, Ontario
This session is one of my absolute favourite sessions!
In August of 2020 we had just recently moved to a new city so of course I wanted to explore my new area for possible locations to do shoots. It had also been quite a lengthy gap between sessions - thanks COVID - and I was seriously in need of flexing my creative muscles. When there's a long lull between shoots it feels SO GOOD to finally get out and start shooting again. It's like the feeling of when you open your windows for the first time in months thanks to Canadian winter; and the spring fills your house and it's the most refreshing breath of fresh air ever.
When I found out a lavender farm was not far from me I jumped at the opportunity right away and immediately started looking for a fun and in love couple to be my subjects. When Emily got in touch with me to say her and her partner, Tim, were in I was so excited! Having met Emily only a few short weeks earlier also made the experience all the more relaxed.
SIDE NOTE TO ALL MY COUPLES: THIS is why all my packages come with an engagement session. It makes such a huge difference to meet your photographer before your big day! I get it - you don't like having your picture taken [I'm so awkward in front of the camera too] but you're 1000x more comfortable and relaxed for your shoot when you've already met and and spoken with your photographer! Okay, back to the lavender session...
When we arrived at South Bay Fields, we got an unexpected surprise - The sunflower field was in bloom! So we quickly got some shots while the sun was coming down and hitting that magical golden light. Then we hopped into the lavender field for some more love shots of Emily and Tim being their adorable selves, and also a few of Emily solo for her own work. Emily is also the super talented photographer behind Wander North Photography!
We had so much fun and I LOVED being able to jump into a new location and try out some new prompts I had been dying to try! I was so happy with the results and, most importantly, so were they!
