There’s something extra special about photographing an engagement session in a place that already holds so much meaning. For Lindsay and Kelsey, the Orillia waterfront isn’t just a pretty backdrop — it’s where they got engaged, which gave this session an effortlessly cinematic, full-circle kind of feel.
We met during peak golden hour, with that soft, glowy light bouncing off the water and wrapping everything in warmth… even though the wind rolling off the lake was anything but. It was a bitter, chilly blast, but instead of fighting it, Lindsay and Kelsey fully leaned in — embracing windswept hair, close hugs, and all the natural, in-between moments that come with being out on the waterfront together.
What I loved most was how relaxed they were with each other. Walking hand in hand along the water, stealing quiet moments, and staying close through the cold — it felt romantic without being overly posed, and real in the best way. The wind, the light, the water, and the history of the place all came together to create a session that felt honest, cozy, and unmistakably them.
